BUFFALO, N.Y. — James Reimer was instrumental in Buffalo`s victory over Carolina, making an impressive 33 saves.

This shutout marks Reimer’s first of the season and his 31st career shutout. His last shutout was on February 17, 2024, while playing for the Detroit Red Wings against Calgary, where he stopped 38 shots.

Contributing to the Sabres` win were goals from Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch, and JJ Peterka. This victory is Buffalo`s fifth in a row, a streak they haven`t achieved since January 2023.

On the Hurricanes` side, Pyotr Kochetkov managed 15 saves. Carolina has now suffered three consecutive losses. This defeat also confirms the Washington Capitals as the Metropolitan Division champions.
