Maycee Barber has spoken out following her recent and notably brutal defeat.

Last Saturday at UFC Seattle, Barber participated in a highly anticipated co-main event rematch against former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso. Barely halfway into the first round, Grasso delivered a powerful left hand during an exchange, dropping Barber to the canvas. Grasso quickly followed up with another strike, and though she attempted a rear-naked choke, the preceding damage was sufficient for referee Mike Beltran to intervene and stop the fight.

After the stoppage, Barber briefly held onto the referee before collapsing back onto the mat, remaining still for several tense moments. She eventually regained composure, sat up, and left the cage unassisted. However, it was later confirmed that the 27-year-old fighter was transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.

Maycee Barber has since provided an update on her condition, appearing to be in better spirits.

Barber Discloses Memory Loss After Grasso Fight

On Sunday night, Maycee Barber took to social media to reflect on her second loss to Alexa Grasso and the concerning aftermath of the bout. She revealed experiencing memory gaps from the night and displayed visible bruising from the fight.

In an Instagram post, Barber stated: "This isn't the update I wanted to share today, but I wanted to thank the UFC and Alexa for the opportunity. My aim was to dominate the rematch and secure a win, but unfortunately, it wasn't my night. I got caught, and Alexa performed incredibly; she's an exceptional fighter."

She continued: "I don't remember much from the fight. It's tough to see myself online looking lifeless. I've been trying to avoid social media, but I wanted to assure everyone that I am alright."

Before this setback, Barber, known as "The Future," was on an impressive seven-fight winning streak, including significant victories over Karine Silva, Amanda Ribas, and Katlyn Cerminara. Her professional record now stands at 15-3 overall, with a 10-3 record within the UFC.
