Mateusz Gamrot`s initial fight of 2025 has been scheduled.
The UFC confirmed on Thursday that Mateusz Gamrot (24-3, 1 NC) will face Ludovit Klein (23-4-1) in a lightweight division clash. This contenders` fight is planned for UFC Vegas 107, taking place on May 31st.
This bout represents a significant opportunity for Gamrot. He currently holds a position tied with Rafael Fiziev at No. 10 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Gamrot had hinted at an upcoming fight for some time, following speculation involving various prominent fighters in the lightweight category. The 34-year-old is looking to rebound from a split decision defeat against Dan Hooker at UFC 305 last August, which ended his previous three-fight winning streak. Gamrot, a former two-weight KSW champion, holds a UFC record of 7 wins and 3 losses since joining the promotion in 2020.
For the 30-year-old Klein, a victory over Gamrot could significantly elevate his standing in the rankings. After an initial challenging start in the UFC with a 1-2 record, Klein transitioned from the featherweight division to lightweight. Since that move, he has achieved an impressive 6-0-1 record, including four consecutive victories. His last performance was in September, where he secured a unanimous decision win against Roosevelt Roberts.
The UFC Vegas 107 event is expected to be headlined by a women`s flyweight contenders` fight between Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber.
