The Toronto Maple Leafs are set to have both of their primary goaltenders ready for the crucial Game 7 decider against the Florida Panthers on Sunday.
According to a report from Elliotte Friedman just before the game began, Anthony Stolarz will serve as the backup goalie for Joseph Woll in the Sunday matchup.
Stolarz had not played since Game 1, where he was forced to leave after receiving two blows to the head. The 31-year-old exited the series opener following an elbow from Panthers forward Sam Bennett and an earlier shot off his mask.
It was somewhat unexpected to see Stolarz suit up for Game 7, as he did not participate in the team`s morning skate on Sunday and hadn`t practiced with the team since being hospitalized after Game 1.
Despite Stolarz`s availability, Woll will make his sixth consecutive start in the second round. Through his six appearances against the Panthers, Woll has recorded a 3.28 goals-against average and an .893 save percentage.
Woll is coming off his first career playoff shutout in Toronto`s 2-0 victory over the Panthers in Game 6.
Game 7 between the Maple Leafs and Panthers was broadcast live.
