Leon Edwards desperately needed a significant change in momentum, or his title aspirations might be over. He appeared defeated in his corner as his team tried to motivate him. It was expected that Brady would immediately pursue another takedown.
However, Brady surprised by throwing a head kick that missed. Edwards held the center and landed a nice uppercut as Brady rushed in, followed by an elbow. Brady then shot for a takedown from distance, but Edwards defended. Another clinch occurred, with Brady securing his strong underhook while Edwards maintained head position.
In a surprising move, Edwards shot for a takedown, and Brady immediately countered with a headlock, a poor decision by Edwards. Brady worked on a guillotine choke, rolling Edwards onto his back. Edwards made a major mistake, and Brady transitioned to full mount!

Brady`s corner expressed confidence in finishing Edwards in this round. Brady came out aggressively, applying pressure across the cage. Edwards, showing resilience, didn`t quit but needed to ignite some offense.
Instead, Brady pushed Edwards against the fence with punches and initiated a takedown. These were similar takedowns to those Belal Muhammad landed against Edwards previously. Brady had clearly studied the tape, and Edwards hadn`t addressed this vulnerability, as Brady took Edwards back to the mat.
