Leon Draisaitl is recovering from his injury faster than his Edmonton Oilers teammate Connor McDavid.
Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch informed reporters on Wednesday that Draisaitl is on the verge of returning to the team`s lineup.
Knoblauch stated after Draisaitl`s morning practice, “Leon will return sooner than Connor. We anticipate Leon being back in about a week, possibly even sooner, while Connor will require a longer recovery period.”
Draisaitl sustained an undisclosed injury on March 18th during a game against Utah. He currently leads the league with an impressive 49 goals and tops the Oilers with 101 points.
McDavid seemed to injure his lower body during last Thursday`s game against the Winnipeg Jets. He missed the final shift of the second period and did not return to the game.
