The Los Angeles Lakers have unveiled their Statement Edition uniform for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season.
This new design marks a return to the classic purple base color, reminiscent of the 2022-23 season. However, it features notable changes compared to previous purple uniforms. Unlike earlier versions that used gold for the team name and a dark color for the numbers, this iteration utilizes crisp white lettering for both the numbers and the `Lakers` text, accented by gold trim.
The collar includes purple and white stripes. A key update is seen on the side panels, which replace the former black accents. These new panels feature a purple, gold, and white design with “Los Angeles Lakers” prominently displayed.
Above the jersey tag, the phrase `Leave a Legacy` is imprinted. Additionally, the number 17 appears on the back of the neck, commemorating the franchise`s 17 NBA championships.
For the first time on a core uniform, the Lakers` signature `LA` logo will be placed on both sides of the shorts, described as a “balancing finishing touch.”
According to a team news release, this Statement Edition jersey will be part of a full uniform set, which will also include the gold Icon Edition, the white Association Edition, and the yearly City Edition uniform.
