
Seattle Kraken General Manager Jason Botterill announced Friday that the team has signed defenceman Josh Mahura to a contract extension.
The new agreement is a two-year, one-way deal. It carries an average annual value (AAV) of $907,500 and will run through the 2026-27 National Hockey League season.
Mahura, a 27-year-old blueliner, participated in 67 games during the last season. He registered nine points, all of which were assists, and contributed significantly on the defensive end with 89 hits and 54 blocked shots.
Over his seven-season NHL career, Mahura has played in a total of 255 regular-season games. His time in the league has been split between the Kraken, the Florida Panthers, and the Anaheim Ducks. The six-foot, 193-pound defenceman has accumulated 54 career points, consisting of 10 goals and 44 assists.
Speaking about the signing, Botterill stated, “Josh was an important addition to our blue line last season. He plays an honest, physical game and rounded out our group of defencemen. He`s also a great teammate. We`re excited to have him back for another two years.”
