Jon Jones, often considered among the greatest fighters in history, acknowledges he would require help to take on a silverback gorilla.
A recent and peculiar online discussion, ignited by a viral tweet asking if 100 humans could defeat a single gorilla, has prompted responses from various figures including celebrities, scientists, and athletes. UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili even confidently asserted he could manage the feat solo.
However, despite holding the title of UFC heavyweight champion, Jones admitted he would need support to accomplish such a task.
“One hundred humans would definitely overcome a gorilla,” Jones reportedly told TMZ. “Considering human intelligence, we`ve conquered the planet, so animals shouldn`t pose an insurmountable problem.”
He clarified, “Certainly not alone. I`d need considerable help, but gathering athletes like NFL players and larger UFC fighters would quickly subdue it. I`d volunteer to lead the charge, joining the initial group if that were to happen.”
Amusingly, the most frequently suggested “winning strategy” online posits that the gorilla would likely overwhelm the first few individuals before the sheer quantity of humans eventually prevails.
This possibility did not appear to deter Jones, who offered to be part of the leading group.
Nevertheless, Jones found the entire scenario amusing, pointing out that gorillas don`t typically seek confrontations with humans.
“I`d gladly be one of the 100,” Jones remarked. “It`s such a funny topic. Everyone`s taking this gorilla fight so seriously! What did the gorilla even do to us? It`s just an amusing discussion.”
