Following his 17th championship win at WrestleMania 41, John Cena took the time to commend Logan Paul, calling him one of WWE`s most promising up-and-coming stars.
On the same night Cena defeated Cody Rhodes, Paul also secured a victory against veteran A.J. Styles. Despite receiving praise for his rapid adaptation to professional wrestling, Paul has also faced criticism for his quick rise to prominence without following the traditional path in the industry.
Cena believes Paul proves his worth with every performance and likely doesn`t concern himself with what others think.
Cena stated in an interview on The Pat McAfee Show: “Logan Paul is a real talent. I texted him right after his match, saying he`s incredibly innovative, from his entrance with the drone to his out-of-the-box thinking. His performance is amazing; he`s doing things I couldn`t do even in my prime. What I like most about Logan Paul is that he doesn`t care if people like him or not. He stays true to himself. He`s a WWE superstar, and people will pay to see him, regardless of their opinion of him.”
During his entrance, Paul used a drone to film himself as he walked to the ring, later releasing it to fly across the arena.
Cena was impressed by Paul`s ability to leverage his experience in social media and YouTube to achieve success in WWE.
Cena also noted that Paul has faced criticism for years, and his ability to handle negativity will be beneficial in his wrestling career.
Cena added, “He`s been hated, but he`s also been through the fire. He`s been told he`d never work in this business again, many times. But he doesn`t care. He never gives up.”
