In a highly entertaining flyweight contest at Road to UFC Season 5, veteran Jinuishiyue emerged victorious over Kaita Oda. The fight was a relentless display of action from beginning to end, characterized by rapid exchanges, tactical reversals, and significant shifts in momentum throughout the three rounds.
Leveraging his extensive experience, Jinuishiyue proved resilient. While Oda consistently sought to close the distance and utilize his grappling, Jinuishiyue, known as “Little Vajra,” consistently found effective responses. He landed cleaner strikes on the feet and maintained advantageous positions when the fight transitioned to the ground.
Neither fighter dominated for extended periods, but Jinuishiyue consistently capitalized on crucial exchanges. Towards the end of the bout, the Chinese fighter made a memorable impression by opening a cut with a sharp elbow strike, concluding another strong sequence in a closely contested match.
Following fifteen minutes of intense combat, Jinuishiyue was awarded the unanimous decision. Two judges scored the bout 30-27 in his favor, while the third judge scored it 29-28, propelling him into the 125-pound semifinals.
This victory marks Jinuishiyue’s fourth consecutive win, improving his professional record to 17-4. Having previously reached the finals of Road to UFC Season 2, where he suffered a split-decision loss to the eventual champion DongHun Choi, and exited Season 3 in the opening round, “Little Vajra” demonstrated his continued prowess.
