Following the successful surgery on the right Achilles tendon he tore during Monday`s game, Boston Celtics standout forward Jayson Tatum has begun his recovery process.
Tatum posted a photo on his Instagram account on Wednesday, expressing gratitude for the messages of support he has received from people across the NBA and beyond. “Thankful for all the love and support,” Tatum wrote in the caption accompanying a picture where he is giving a thumbs-up.
Tatum`s injury occurred in the fourth quarter of Game 4 between the Celtics and the New York Knicks. Prior to exiting the game, Tatum had recorded an impressive 42 points and eight rebounds.
Many prominent individuals sent their well wishes to Tatum in the comments of his Instagram post, including former MLB star Alex Rodriguez and actor Donnie Wahlberg. Rodriguez left heart and praying hands emojis, while Wahlberg commented, “Much Love JT!” Additionally, figures like LeBron James and Patrick Mahomes had publicly wished Tatum a speedy recovery on social media the night of his injury.
The Celtics are scheduled to play Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Knicks on Wednesday night, facing the challenge of competing without their injured star.
