
Jake Guentzel, a key player for the Tampa Bay Lightning, will be absent from their upcoming game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This Atlantic Division matchup will proceed without the winger.
Prior to the game on Wednesday, the Lightning organization announced that Guentzel would be unavailable for the contest against the Maple Leafs due to a family matter.
This season, 30-year-old Guentzel has been a significant contributor to the Lightning`s offense, scoring 38 goals and accumulating 77 points over 76 games. He joined the Lightning on July 1st, signing a seven-year contract worth $63 million.
Before joining Tampa Bay, Guentzel played his first eight NHL seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pittsburgh selected him in the third round of the 2013 NHL draft.
