Both former England captains, one from cricket and one from football, attended the first day of Wimbledon this week and were seen wearing notably similar outfits.

Broad was observed in the prestigious Royal Box, seated behind Beckham and former Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate.

Tennis enthusiasts quickly noticed the comparable attire worn by the pair: light-colored suits, pale blue shirts, and dark ties.

Broad was teased about the matching outfits during the Second Test between India and England at Edgbaston. Sky Sports commentator and former England captain Nasser Hussain light-heartedly remarked, “You copied him, haven’t you?”

With a smile, Broad responded, “I actually think he has copied me.”

Broad went on to describe a particularly “awkward” handshake he shared with Sir David during the lunch break.

He recounted: “When he walked into lunch, he put his hand out to shake hands.”

“And he’s had some surgery, big sort of plaster cast or something on his hand, and it was a bit awkward.”

Broad himself was hesitant about using a firm grip as he had recently undergone surgery to remove a screw that had been in his arm for 23 years.

He explained: “I was sort of like, `How firm a handshake do I go here?`”

“So I ended up sort of just doing like a bit of a tappy handshake with him, which was a little bit awkward.”

“But no, it was a lovely day.”
