The Carolina Hurricanes are awaiting an update on forward Jordan Martinook`s condition ahead of Game 4 against the Washington Capitals in their first-round playoff series.

Martinook exited Game 3 on Saturday during the third period of the team`s victory. The departure followed him blocking a shot taken by Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois. He appeared to be favoring his left leg as he skated off towards the Hurricanes` dressing room.

As of now, there has been no official report on the specific nature or severity of the injury.

Before leaving the game, the 32-year-old forward played 15:16 of ice time, recording three hits and blocking two shots.
