The Carolina Hurricanes are awaiting an update on forward Jordan Martinook`s condition ahead of Game 4 against the Washington Capitals in their first-round playoff series.
Martinook exited Game 3 on Saturday during the third period of the team`s victory. The departure followed him blocking a shot taken by Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois. He appeared to be favoring his left leg as he skated off towards the Hurricanes` dressing room.
As of now, there has been no official report on the specific nature or severity of the injury.
Before leaving the game, the 32-year-old forward played 15:16 of ice time, recording three hits and blocking two shots.
During the regular season, Martinook tallied 15 goals and 36 points across 79 games for Carolina. In the current postseason, he has contributed one goal and three assists.
Carolina`s win on Saturday secured them a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 is scheduled for Monday.
