The Golden State Warriors have taken a 1-0 lead in their semifinal series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, securing a 99-88 win in Game 1 on Tuesday.

Despite Stephen Curry being sidelined in the second quarter due to a left hamstring strain, the Warriors were able to pull out the victory.

Buddy Hield was the top scorer for Golden State, finishing with 24 points. Jimmy Butler contributed 20 points, and Draymond Green added 18.

Hield showcased impressive shooting, draining 14 three-pointers over his last two games. According to research, he is now the fifth player in NBA postseason history to make at least 14 three-pointers within a two-game span, joining an exclusive list that includes Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Damian Lillard, and Desmond Bane. Curry, Thompson, and Lillard have multiple such instances.

For the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards led the team with 23 points. He had a slow start, scoring just one point in the first half, but picked things up later in the game.

Jimmy Butler delivered a strong all-around performance for the Warriors, recording 10 rebounds and falling just two assists shy of achieving his third career postseason triple-double.

Historically, under coach Steve Kerr (since 2015), the Warriors hold a dominant 21-1 record in playoff series after winning Game 1. Their only series loss after taking Game 1 occurred in the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Here’s a look back at some of the key moments from Golden State`s Game 1 triumph.
