Henry Cejudo is experiencing a busy April. Just over a week into the month, the former UFC champion has already been involved in two notable incidents.
This past weekend, Cejudo stated that he assisted in detaining an individual who allegedly crashed a car into his neighbor`s property and then physically assaulted the neighbor. Now, Cejudo himself appears to be a victim of a crime.
On Tuesday, Dylan Rush, Cejudo`s producer, shared a video on Instagram detailing a burglary at Cejudo`s studio. According to Rush, the incident occurred while Cejudo was asleep in the studio. The burglar reportedly stole Cejudo`s original UFC flyweight championship belt.
Rush described the event, stating, “Someone broke into Henry`s studio last night at 4:45 a.m. and stole his first UFC belt while I was sleeping on the couch. I woke up and watched the guy stand there for two minutes thinking it was Henry because it was dark. Then I heard a crash (the shelf fell) and the dude ran out.”
Cejudo initially won the UFC flyweight title by defeating Demetrious Johnson at UFC 227. He later became a two-division champion by winning the bantamweight title against Marlon Moraes at UFC 238. After a brief retirement in 2020, Cejudo returned to the UFC in 2023. Since his comeback, he has suffered three defeats, most recently a technical decision loss to Song Yadong at UFC Seattle in February.
