The Vegas Golden Knights may be without a key player as they face elimination in the playoffs.
Team captain Mark Stone did not participate in the morning skate. Head coach Bruce Cassidy informed reporters that Stone`s availability for Game 5 against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday will be a decision made closer to game time.
The Golden Knights are currently trailing the Oilers 3-1 in their second-round series.
Defensemen Alex Pietrangelo and Brayden McNabb, along with forward Brandon Saad, were also absent from the skate and are considered game-time decisions for the crucial contest.
According to a report from Sin Bin Vegas, the team is operating under the assumption that Stone will not play. The 33-year-old forward was forced to leave Game 3 due to an undisclosed injury but did manage to skate for 21 minutes and 42 seconds in Game 4.
However, the same report from Sin Bin Vegas suggests that McNabb and Pietrangelo are expected to be in the lineup. Defensemen Kaedan Korczak and Ben Hutton, who were listed as scratches, remained on the ice after the team`s morning session.
Saad is also reportedly dealing with an injury that has not been specified. He saw 16 minutes and 11 seconds of ice time in Game 2 of the series, recording one hit and one blocked shot. The 32-year-old veteran has registered two assists in eight games during this post-season run.
