Vegas Golden Knights left wing Pavel Dorofeyev (16) lines up on the ice against the Minnesota Wild during overtime in Game 4 of an NHL hockey Stanley Cup first-round playoff series.

The Vegas Golden Knights will begin their second-round playoff series facing the Edmonton Oilers without significant forward Pavel Dorofeyev.

Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy informed reporters that Dorofeyev would not be available for Game 1 scheduled for Tuesday.

The 24-year-old sustained an injury, described as undisclosed, late in Vegas`s 3-2 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild, which secured their first-round series victory in Game 5.

Dorofeyev had a productive season, leading the Golden Knights in goal scoring with 35 goals and accumulating a total of 52 points.

Veteran left winger Victor Olofsson, who scored 15 goals during the regular season, is set to step into Dorofeyev`s spot in the lineup and also join the power play unit.

Coach Cassidy commented on the lineup change, stating that Olofsson is a capable scorer and the team is not overly dependent on one player, though Dorofeyev`s absence will be felt.

Following Dorofeyev`s injury in the previous game, Mark Stone was moved to the top line to play alongside Jack Eichel and William Karlsson.

Cassidy explained that pairing Stone with Eichel is a combination they are familiar with and one they had considered implementing at some point.
