Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy expressed his displeasure regarding a late hit that resulted in an injury to one of his key players.

During Sunday`s game, with the Golden Knights leading the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 in the final period, Vegas forward Tomas Hertl was forcefully driven into the boards by Tampa Bay defenseman Emil Lilleberg following a breakaway attempt.

Hertl was unable to continue playing and did not return to the game. Lilleberg was penalized with a two-minute boarding minor.

Cassidy openly criticized Lilleberg`s hit in the post-game comments.

“That was a senseless hit, in my opinion,” the Golden Knights coach stated to reporters.
