The Montreal Canadiens announced Sunday they have signed goaltender Jakub Dobes to a two-year contract.

The contract carries an average annual value (AAV) of $965,000.

Dobes, originally a fifth-round pick by Montreal in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, completed a solid first season in the NHL.

The 24-year-old netminder appeared in 16 NHL games, recording a .909 save percentage, a 2.74 goals-against average, and a 7-4-3 record. He also played in three playoff games for the team, posting an .891 save percentage and a 2.91 GAA.

Across 65 career games in the American Hockey League (AHL), Dobes holds a 2.82 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
