The Global Fight League (GFL) has officially announced its highly anticipated debut with a spectacular two-night event in Los Angeles this May.
In a press release issued on Monday, GFL revealed the details for its first events, scheduled for May 24th and 25th at the Shrine Auditorium. The league stated that all six teams – representing Los Angeles, New York, London, Dubai, São Paulo, and Miami – will participate in a total of 31 matches across two days. These events will showcase ten different weight classes, promising some of the most diverse and thrilling fight cards in the history of MMA.
The fight card for May 24th is packed with exciting bouts, including trilogy fights between MMA veterans Urijah Faber and Renan Barao, as well as Anthony Pettis and Benson Henderson.
The main event for the May 25th card will feature a compelling matchup between former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson and Dillon Danis. Adding to the excitement, former UFC fighter Paige VanZant will also be making her return to mixed martial arts on this night.
Details regarding where fans can watch these inaugural GFL events are still to be announced, but the press release indicated that information is expected to be shared sometime in April.
