Play at the French Open was temporarily halted following a medical emergency involving a spectator in the crowd.
Screams were heard from the stands during the match between Qinwen Zheng and Victoria Mboko, alerting officials to the situation.

Initial reports indicated that a spectator had fallen and sustained a serious injury, prompting the immediate suspension of the match.
Medical personnel quickly arrived on the scene to attend to the injured individual.

Commentators Adam Fielder and Lucie Ahl discussed the unfolding situation and the uncertainty it brought to the match. Fielder noted the difficulty of such situations and the need for the person to receive required assistance, while also considering the unknown duration of the delay for the players. Ahl added that Mboko remained standing and watching as the supervisor came onto the court, and mentioned the prevailing hot temperatures.
Both players, Zheng and Mboko, had to wait patiently while the medical situation in the crowd was being managed. Zheng was leading the match, having secured one set and being 5-3 up in the second, at the time of the incident.
The court supervisor communicated with the players, informing them that the delay could potentially be lengthy due to the severity of the spectator`s injury after their fall.
