Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has confirmed his intention to discuss the ongoing Negreira case with UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin. Perez, who is seeking re-election as president of Real Madrid, stated that he will present a comprehensive dossier on the matter to Ceferin during the upcoming Champions League final.
Perez described the Negreira case as “the biggest corruption case in the history of football” and expressed his determination to pursue it. He plans to meet with Ceferin at the Champions League final, where he was invited by the UEFA president. Perez indicated that the dossier, which has been in preparation for three years, will be handed over as soon as the current football season concludes.
In other news, Perez also touched upon the managerial situation at Real Madrid. While he acknowledged that he has a name in mind for the new head coach, he declined to reveal it, stating that he has not yet spoken with the potential candidate. Jose Mourinho was mentioned as a strong contender, though any appointment would likely occur after the upcoming presidential election.
Regarding player contracts, Perez was asked about the future of Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian winger’s current contract expires in 2027, and negotiations for an extension have not yet seen significant progress. Perez expressed his personal desire for Vinicius Junior to remain at the club, recognizing him as “one of the best in the world.”
