
The Calgary Flames are nearing an agreement to extend the contract of a player acquired via trade last season.
According to a report, center Morgan Frost is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Flames worth $8.75 million, carrying an average annual value of $4.375 million.
Frost joined the Flames in a trade originating from the Flyers partway through the previous season.
The 26-year-old forward concluded the season with a total of 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists). Of these, 12 points (three goals, nine assists) were accumulated while playing for Calgary.
Originally drafted 27th overall in 2017 by Philadelphia, the Aurora, Ontario native has played six seasons in the league, recording a career total of 53 goals and 94 assists for 147 points across 310 games.
