CALGARY — Morgan Frost broke a 25-game scoring drought and then netted the decisive goal in the shootout as the Calgary Flames rallied to secure a 5-4 win against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Nazem Kadri, achieving a career-high with his 33rd goal, along with Mikael Backlund and Adam Klapka, also contributed goals for Calgary (40-27-14). Despite extending their point streak to seven games (5-0-2), the Flames were unfortunately eliminated from playoff contention, marking their third consecutive year missing the postseason.
Entering the night with slim playoff hopes for a Western Conference wild-card spot, Calgary needed favorable results from other games. However, their fate was sealed as both the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues secured victories earlier in the evening.
