Fermin Lopez Responds to Florentino Perez’s Claims About Barcelona

Sports news » Fermin Lopez Responds to Florentino Perez’s Claims About Barcelona

Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, recently made a series of controversial statements, including accusations against Barcelona. He alleged that the Catalan club had “stolen seven La Liga titles” during the period of payments to former CTA vice-president Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, a case widely known as the Negreira case.

Barcelona has consistently denied any wrongdoing concerning allegations of sporting corruption. In reaction to Perez’s remarks, interim president Rafa Yuste described them as “pathetic.” Now, Barcelona’s midfielder Fermin Lopez has also shared his perspective.

In an interview with Cadena SER, Lopez was asked about Perez’s claims that Barcelona had “stolen” La Liga titles. He unequivocally denied these accusations.

“Yes, we saw it, like everyone else, but we always focus on what’s happening here. Everyone has their own view. I don’t think it’s right to say that Barça stole seven leagues, especially considering players like Messi, Iniesta, and Xavi played. We don’t pay it any mind. We are focused on our path, and what happens outside of Barça doesn’t concern us. We are very focused.”

“I don’t care because everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I don’t believe it was right to say that. We are very focused on what’s happening at Barça, which is a very good period. I’m sure titles will come, and we’re very happy with our progress.”

Lopez Rejects “Real Madrid Prototype” Label

Lopez was also questioned about recent comments by journalist Tomas Roncero, who referred to the Barcelona player as an ideal signing for Real Madrid, calling him a “Real Madrid prototype.”

“I am a Barça prototype. It’s impossible for me to go to Real Madrid; I will always be with Barça.”
