TV executives have given Mark Petchey the green light to coach Emma Raducanu on a part-time basis.
If they decide to continue their partnership after the last two weeks, this could lead to them working together at Wimbledon.

Petchey, 54, was part of Raducanu’s team when she played against Jessica Pegula in the Miami Open quarter-finals, losing in three sets.
During the late-night match, she felt “dizzy” due to the humidity and the delayed start, requiring medical attention.
Petchey is a former professional player and currently works full-time as a commentator and analyst for the Tennis Channel.
He initially joined Raducanu to provide guidance after she unexpectedly ended her trial with Vladimir Platenik.
Sources indicate that Tennis Channel is comfortable with Petchey continuing his commentary role alongside part-time coaching.
Previously, Tennis Channel commentators like Lindsay Davenport and Paul Annacone have combined their broadcasting duties with coaching top players.
Petchey coached Andy Murray for ten months when Murray was 18 and also trained with Raducanu in the summer of 2020 during the Covid pandemic.
They have a positive relationship, and Petchey was seen participating in warm-up routines with Raducanu`s team in Florida.

Petchey has not commented publicly on the situation but shared an intriguing message on social media: “I think most advice reflects the limitations of the advisor, not your potential.”
In her match against Pegula, Raducanu displayed some of her best tennis since her US Open victory in 2021 at the age of 18.
Raducanu, expected to return to the world’s top 50 soon, was leading 5-2 in the second set and had four set points before seeking medical assistance.
After medical checks, she resumed play and won the second set in a tie-break.
However, Pegula, demonstrating her high ranking, won the match 6-4, 6-7, 6-2 and advanced to the semi-finals.
Raducanu, 22, explained her condition: “I felt really dizzy and faint.
“The humidity was high, and there was a significant delay before the match started.
“It might have been a combination of physical factors, long rallies, and challenging conditions.”
“I`m proud of my fight and how I competed throughout the match.”
“Jessica played exceptionally well from beginning to end, showing her class.”
“Despite the loss, I’m taking positives from this week and looking forward. It was good to feel like I was playing well again.”
“I’ve missed that feeling of playing well and the competitive spirit, which I rediscovered this week. It’s refreshing to have that feeling back on court.”
Raducanu is scheduled to play in the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers for Britain against Germany and the Netherlands on April 11-12.
Following that, she will focus on the European clay-court season, including the French Open in late May, and then transition to grass court events.
Regarding her immediate plans, she stated: “I need to pause, reassess my direction.
“This week was positive, but I need to figure things out and then plan accordingly.”
