
The Edmonton Oilers are expanding their roster with talent from overseas.
Josh Samanski, a forward from Germany, has agreed to a two-year entry-level contract with the Oilers. The contract will officially begin next season, as announced by the team on Wednesday.
Samanski, aged 23, has spent the majority of the last four years playing for the Straubing Tigers in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), Germany`s top professional league.
During his time with the Tigers, Samanski played in 193 games, scoring 40 goals and providing 53 assists. In addition, he participated in 30 playoff games, contributing five goals and six assists.
This season, the left-shooting forward played 52 games for Straubing, leading the team with 14 goals and adding 26 assists.
