EDMONTON – Leon Draisaitl was the hero, scoring at 18:18 of overtime on the power play and adding three assists, as the Edmonton Oilers orchestrated a dramatic comeback. They defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in Game 4 on Sunday, evening their first-round playoff series in miraculous fashion.
The Oilers forced the extra frame when Evan Bouchard found the back of the net for his second goal of the game with just 29 seconds remaining in regulation. The winning opportunity arose in overtime when Vladislav Gavrikov was called for tripping Connor McDavid, resulting in a late power play for Edmonton. Draisaitl capitalized effectively, burying a rebound to notch his third goal of the postseason.
Corey Perry also contributed a goal and an assist for Edmonton, while McDavid recorded two helpers. These two consecutive victories at home have allowed the Oilers to rebound after dropping the initial pair of contests in Los Angeles to begin the best-of-seven series.
Trevor Moore, Warren Foegele, and Kevin Fiala were the goal scorers for the Kings. Los Angeles is still looking for their first playoff series win since their Stanley Cup victory over the New York Rangers in 2014.
