The New Jersey Devils are set to receive a significant lineup addition for Game 3 on Friday against the Carolina Hurricanes: defenceman Jonas Siegenthaler.

Siegenthaler has been sidelined since suffering a leg injury against the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 4.

While the bone is now healed, head coach Sheldon Keefe noted that the 27-year-old Swiss blue liner may see limited ice time initially as he works to regain full conditioning.

Before his injury, Siegenthaler appeared in 55 regular-season games, contributing two goals and seven assists while averaging 19:36 of ice time per contest.

However, the Devils will remain without fellow defencemen Luke Hughes and Brenden Dillon, who are still recovering from undisclosed injuries sustained in Game 1 of the series.

New Jersey currently trails Carolina 2-0 in their best-of-seven first-round matchup.

Puck drop for Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
