WINNIPEG — Following the morning skate, Dallas Stars coach Pete DeBoer was asked if his impressive track record in Game 7 playoff situations helps in elimination games. DeBoer smiled and replied, “Well, it`s not Game 7 yet.”

However, for the Winnipeg Jets, this game effectively served the same purpose. Facing elimination on Thursday night, they delivered their best performance of the series, shutting out the Stars 4-0 in Game 5. This victory narrowed Dallas`s series lead to 3-2 and forced a Game 6 on Saturday in Texas.

As an NHL coach, DeBoer boasts a 9-0 record in Game 7s, and the Jets would certainly relish the chance to make him try for 10-0.

For the time being, the Stars still maintain control of the series.
