Dan Hooker is making progress in his recovery journey after hand surgery, and he`s sharing the process with fans.
The UFC lightweight veteran recently updated his social media with a video showing the removal of stitches from his hand surgery. This surgery was needed after an injury forced him to withdraw from a scheduled fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 313.
You can watch the video update below.
Hooker had previously posted photos of his hand after the surgery. Now, it seems his healing has advanced to the point where the stitches can be taken out. The video concludes with a shot of Hooker`s hand, which appears to be recovering well.
Currently, there is no set date for Hooker`s return to the Octagon, and it`s unclear if the UFC still plans to match him up against Justin Gaethje. Gaethje instead fought Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313 as a late replacement, winning by unanimous decision in a fight that earned both fighters a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus.
Hooker is eager to get back to fighting as soon as he can. He is currently enjoying his first three-fight win streak since 2020. His last fight was in August at UFC 305, where he won a split decision against fellow top contender Mateusz Gamrot.
