DALLAS – The Dallas Stars made history by being the only team in the last thirty years to reach three consecutive conference finals.
Despite this impressive streak, they were unable to secure a Stanley Cup victory or even advance to the final series.
Jamie Benn, the nearly 36-year-old captain who has spent 16 seasons in Dallas and is set to become an unrestricted free agent, reflected on the repeated failures: “Three years in a row now, you get that close and you come up short … obviously not a good feeling.”
For the third consecutive season, including two times against Edmonton, the Stars` playoff run concluded in the Western Conference final. Their latest defeat came on Thursday night in Game 5 at home, a 6-3 loss.
