The Ottawa Senators` most recent journey to the playoffs prior to this season was during the 2016–17 campaign, a run that saw them reach the Eastern Conference Final.
Recently, a key figure from that 2017 roster was present at Canadian Tire Centre as the Senators played host to their first home post-season game in eight years.
Craig Anderson, the goaltender who started all 19 playoff contests for Ottawa during that memorable run, was given the honor of ringing the ceremonial bell before the game began.
Speaking after the event, the former netminder shared his feelings about being back in the arena, describing the atmosphere as `electric`.
Anderson expressed his appreciation for the fanbase, stating, “The fans here are unbelievable. It`s great to be back in the city that supported me for all these years. I`m looking forward to just watching these boys come out here and battle their butts off.”
