Conor McGregor is generating significant attention once again within the MMA community.

The sport`s biggest name, who has been absent from competition in the octagon for nearly four years, is now discussing the prerequisites for his potential comeback. Following the recent commercial success of WrestleMania 41 held in Las Vegas, McGregor took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to outline a specific requirement for his return to fighting.

“I`ll only come back to a stadium,” McGregor wrote.

Known as “The Notorious,” McGregor was originally slated to headline UFC 303 this past June. His opponent was set to be Michael Chandler, his opposing coach from the reality series The Ultimate Fighter. However, the highly anticipated bout was canceled just weeks before the scheduled date after McGregor sustained a toe injury.

Following his tweet about the stadium condition, McGregor sent a subsequent message directed at Chandler.

“Iron Mike Chandler. Unfinished business,” McGregor posted.

Michael Chandler was quick to signal his enthusiastic agreement with McGregor`s sentiment. Shortly after McGregor`s posts surfaced, the former Bellator champion responded, indicating his readiness to revisit their planned matchup.

“Unfinished business loading….,” Chandler wrote in response.

Chandler further elaborated on his willingness in a series of subsequent posts on Threads.

“Dust off the old contract and add some new ink… I’m ready tomorrow,” Chandler wrote. He also added a more philosophical note regarding commitments: “YOUR WORD IS YOUR BOND, IF YOUR WORD IS NO GOOD THEN EVENTUALLY YOU ARE NO GOOD.”

During his extensive break from the octagon, which began after he suffered a severe leg injury in a stoppage loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, McGregor has remained active in various business ventures and public life. The former two-division UFC champion has notably become a part-owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) and has publicly expressed aspirations to run for President of Ireland.

Chandler`s most recent appearance in the octagon resulted in a TKO loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 earlier this month.
