According to the UFC’s official website, former welterweight title contender Colby Covington (17-5) is now listed as retired from UFC competition. This update was initially noted by the UFC Roster Tracker, an automated account that monitors fighter statuses.
Covington, 38, who is known by the nickname “Chaos,” has not yet publicly addressed his status. His last professional mixed martial arts bout was in December 2024, where he was defeated by Joaquin Buckley.
A figure who often divided opinion in MMA, Covington was once a prominent star in the UFC, largely due to his outspoken nature and frequently controversial persona.
In recent months, Covington has participated in two non-UFC grappling matches. He secured victories against former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and grappling specialist Dillon Danis under the Real American Freestyle Wrestling (RAF) banner. His next scheduled match under RAF rules is against another former UFC middleweight champion, Chris Weidman, at RAF 09 on May 30.
