Chase DeMoor successfully defended his heavyweight championship, although the fight presented significant challenges and was far from straightforward.
Competing at Misfits Boxing 21 in Derby, England on Friday, DeMoor faced Tanner Tolman in his title defense. Despite ultimately securing a knockout victory, DeMoor had to battle through difficult moments during the bout to achieve it.
DeMoor, who was widely favored against Tolman making his Misfits debut, found himself in serious trouble early in the second round. Tolman landed a powerful right hand that floored DeMoor, marking the first time he had been knocked down in his professional career.
DeMoor managed to beat the referee`s count and used the following minutes to recover. Tolman attempted to capitalize on his advantage and maintain momentum, but his aggressive pursuit proved costly. DeMoor counterattacked effectively, returning the favor and dropping Tolman shortly before the round concluded.
Tolman also beat the count and survived the second round, but the momentum had clearly shifted away from “Tank”. To his credit, Tolman came out aggressively in the third round, but DeMoor met his attack with force. DeMoor unleashed a barrage of powerful right hands to Tolman`s head, securing the dominant knockout victory just over a minute into the third round.
