The Vancouver Canucks have announced the emergency recall of forward Max Sasson from their AHL affiliate in Abbotsford.
This move comes as the team deals with injuries to forwards Elias Petterson and Nils Hoglander. Both players are currently in Vancouver receiving treatment for injuries sustained in their recent game against the New York Rangers.
Sasson, who previously debuted in the NHL with the Canucks this season, has accumulated two goals and four assists over 24 NHL games. In the AHL this season, he has recorded nine goals and 17 assists in 37 games.
The Canucks are currently on a six-game road trip and are set to face the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Vancouver is currently chasing a wild-card spot in the Western Conference, sitting five points behind the St. Louis Blues with two games in hand.
