The Vancouver Canucks have received unwelcome news regarding the aftermath of Saturday`s intense game against the Minnesota Wild.

Coach Rick Tocchet announced on Sunday that Canucks defenseman Derek Forbort sustained a broken orbital bone. This injury occurred when Forbort received a late punch during a fight with Wild center Yakor Trenin, leading to his early departure from the game.

The altercation concluded with both players falling onto the ice. Subsequently, Trenin delivered a punch to Forbort while the latter`s head was on the ice.

Following the incident, Forbort was observed holding his face in pain and was subsequently escorted to the Canucks` locker room.
