Montreal Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault`s availability for Game 4 against the Washington Capitals remains uncertain as he is still being evaluated.

Head coach Martin St. Louis confirmed on Saturday that Montembeault is still undergoing evaluation for the lower-body injury sustained during the second period of Game 3.

Jakub Dobes stepped in after Montembeault`s departure, stopping seven of eight shots as the Canadiens secured a 6-3 victory, their first in the opening-round series.

Notably, Montembeault was not the only goaltender injured in the game.

Washington Capitals goalie Logan Thompson also required assistance leaving the ice in the third period following a collision with his teammate Dylan Strome.

Washington leads the series 2-1, with Montreal aiming to tie it on home ice in Game 4.

Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday and will be broadcast live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+, starting at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT.
