The Montreal Canadiens concluded Sunday`s Game 4 against the Washington Capitals with one fewer defenseman available.

Defenceman Alexandre Carrier departed the game in the third period following what appeared to be an injury. This was the second instance in the game where he left for the locker room, having previously exited during the first 20 minutes before returning to play.

The injury seemingly resulted from a hit delivered by Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson. Wilson sent Carrier into the boards on a play that immediately preceded the Capitals scoring the game-tying goal.
