The Montreal Canadiens have bolstered their goaltending depth ahead of Game 4 against the Washington Capitals.

The team announced Sunday morning that goaltender Cayden Primeau has been recalled from their AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket.

This move comes as starting goaltender Sam Montembeault`s availability for the game is uncertain after he sustained a lower-body injury in Game 3 on Friday.

Head coach Martin St. Louis stated Saturday that Montembeault is still being evaluated and has not yet been ruled out for Game 4.

Should Montembeault be unable to play, Jakub Dobes is anticipated to start. Dobes played in relief on Friday, stopping seven of eight shots.

The 23-year-old Dobes had a solid rookie season in the AHL, recording a 2.74 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage in 16 games.

Washington currently leads the playoff series 2-1.

Game 4 is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT.
