NEW YORK — In a Saturday night showdown, Nazem Kadri delivered the decisive blow in overtime, propelling the Calgary Flames to a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders.
Matt Coronato showcased his scoring touch with two goals, while Jonathan Huberdeau played a pivotal role, netting a goal and providing two assists, contributing significantly to Calgary`s third consecutive win. Goaltender Dan Vladar was solid in net, stopping 26 shots.
For the Islanders, Bo Horvat, Marc Gatcomb, and Kyle MacLean found the back of the net. Maxim Tsyplakov and Noah Dobson each tallied two assists. Marcus Hogberg made 31 saves for New York, who, despite the loss, extended their point streak to five games (3-0-2) after their three-game winning streak was halted.
Hogberg made a crucial save against Morgan Frost on a breakaway just moments before Kadri`s game-winning goal, in what was a tightly contested and exciting match.
