British tennis player Fran Jones had to withdraw from her first-round match at the Copa Colsanitas after collapsing on the court.
The 24-year-old was about to serve in the decisive set of her match against Julia Riera when she became disoriented and fell to the ground.

She quickly received medical attention from on-site personnel before being taken off the court in a wheelchair.
Tournament organizers later released a statement.
The statement read: “Due to a physical issue, Francesca Jones has withdrawn from her match against Julia Riera at 6-2 5-7 5-3 in favor of the Argentinian. We wish the British tennis player a speedy recovery.”
Jones appeared to have difficulty breathing at times during the final set of the match.
She won the first set 6-2 but lost the second 7-5 to Riera.
The British player was trailing 5-3 in the third set when she collapsed.
Jones provided an update for fans the next morning.
It stated: “Bogota is known for its high altitude, and acclimatization usually takes a few days. Unfortunately, due to rain upon our arrival on Monday afternoon, we couldn`t practice. This meant my first exposure to the limited oxygen levels at high intensity was during my match, aside from a low-intensity pre-match warm-up.”
“As the match progressed, I worked hard to remain competitive but gradually struggled. Blurred vision eventually led to my collapse, and it was not due to cramps.”
“Overnight, we conducted several tests, and it seems my heart was working too hard that day, but thankfully, there are no long-term effects.”
“Bogota is one of my favorite events of the year, and I hope to return in 2026 under better circumstances.”
“After a few days of rest, I will continue to build on the progress made this season. Thank you for your messages and concern.”
Jones is currently ranked No. 129 in the world in women`s singles.
She reached a career-high ranking of 123 last month.
The 24-year-old overcame significant odds to become a professional tennis player.
She was born with Ectrodactyly Ectodermal Dysplasia Syndrome, a rare medical condition that resulted in her being born without two fingers and three toes.
Doctors had previously advised Jones to abandon her tennis career, but she has since competed at Wimbledon and the Australian Open.
She has yet to advance past the qualifying rounds at the US Open or French Open.
Jones is also a friend of Emma Raducanu, and they have both represented Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup.
