Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher has been playing with a heavy heart recently.
Gallagher shared on Thursday that his mother, Della, passed away earlier in March after bravely battling cancer.
`Throughout our lives, she truly did so much for our family,` Gallagher reflected. `You try to hold onto the cherished memories you have.`
Gallagher mentioned that his mother fought brain cancer for three and a half years, exceeding the initial prognosis of six to eighteen months. She passed away on March 8th while the Canadiens were in Calgary. Gallagher`s family resides in British Columbia, allowing him to spend time with them following his mother`s passing when the Canadiens played against Vancouver on March 11th.
