The Ottawa Senators are expected to be without their captain for a fourth straight game.
Following Saturday`s 3-0 victory over the Florida Panthers, Senators coach Travis Green indicated that Brady Tkachuk is unlikely to play on Sunday against the Columbus Blue Jackets at home.
Tkachuk initially missed Tuesday`s game due to an upper-body injury.
The exact moment of the injury is unknown.
Previously, Tkachuk was sidelined for two games with a lower-body injury after the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Tkachuk is the Senators` leading scorer this season with 29 goals and 26 assists in 71 games. Ottawa currently holds a comfortable first wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 41-29-6.
