Arman Tsarukyan Hits Back at Paddy Pimblett’s Remarks

Sports news » Arman Tsarukyan Hits Back at Paddy Pimblett’s Remarks

There`s a potential future showdown brewing between Paddy Pimblett and Arman Tsarukyan.

Pimblett is preparing to face Michael Chandler in a co-main event fight. A win would be a significant step for Pimblett, potentially placing him among the top lightweight contenders. It seems Pimblett already has some words for the current top-ranked fighter, Arman Tsarukyan.

“The established fighters in the lightweight division are aging out,” Pimblett commented on the Full Send podcast. “… The Top 10 rankings will likely look very different in a few years. Arman Tsarukyan is one of the few currently in the Top 10 who is younger than 35. He’s just a privileged guy who has had things easy due to his father`s influence. He`s weak. That`s what I think of you, Arman. You`re weak.”

“He made videos where he does neck flips, and then complains about a bad back. Dana White even addressed it, dismissing his claims in an interview. That`s not good when the boss criticizes you publicly. When asked if Arman was still No. 1, Dana implied he needed to prove himself again. …”

“Basically, Arman, you messed up badly.”

Tsarukyan was originally set to challenge Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title, but he withdrew from the fight. Renato Moicano took his place. UFC CEO Dana White indicated Tsarukyan would need to re-earn his title opportunity. Tsarukyan hasn`t been scheduled for a fight since then, but after hearing Pimblett’s comments, the top-ranked lightweight seems ready to confront Pimblett if he is victorious against Chandler.

“Says the guy who was given an easy path to UFC fame because of his accent and haircut. I dare you to call me out if you win, and we will see who will falter in the octagon when we meet, clown.”

The event is scheduled to take place, headlined by a featherweight title fight.
