Andrei Arlovski is not looking back at his time in the UFC. He is completely focused on what comes next.
Arlovski, a former UFC heavyweight champion, will now compete in Dirty Boxing this Saturday in Miami. This will be his first appearance for the promotion, headlining Dirty Boxing 1 against Terrance Hodges. After ending his second long run in the UFC, Arlovski is only interested in the future.
“I’m just getting started,” Arlovski told MMA Fighting. “I’m 100 percent looking forward in my career.”
At 46 years old, Arlovski is beginning again in two organizations. He has signed with the new GFL and was chosen by the Los Angeles team.
Before continuing his MMA career, Arlovski is part of the launch of Dirty Boxing to the public, following a trial event last November.
“It’s wild, and I like it,” Arlovski said. “The first event had flying punches in boxing, it was fun. Plus, having ‘Platinum’ Mike as a promoter is a big deal. I’m very excited.”
After winning four fights in a row between April 2021 and April 2022, Arlovski finished his UFC period with four losses in a row, including a close decision loss to Martin Buday at UFC 303 in June.
Arlovski is not discouraged by this. In fact, it has motivated the experienced MMA fighter to continue.
“I’m a happy fighter because I still have passion,” Arlovski said. “I’ve been waiting, and I’m excited to fight. This is something new for me, a new beginning. I don’t care about the past. It’s the past. A great past, of course, but I’m living now and looking to the future, so I’m very excited.”
“I’m very excited and I really appreciate my strong management and their advice, and I thank Dirty Boxing for giving me this chance to get ready for my fight in GFL.”
