Amanda Nunes, widely recognized as the most dominant woman in the history of Mixed Martial Arts, is officially entering the UFC Hall of Fame.
The announcement was made during the UFC 314 broadcast from Miami, revealing Nunes as a member of the 2025 Hall of Fame class. The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 28 in Las Vegas.
Nunes, aged 36, was present at the Kaseya Center and was visibly moved upon hearing the news.
Known as “The Lioness,” Nunes (23-5 record) is considered the greatest of all time in women`s MMA. Her reign from 2015 to 2021 was marked by dominance, holding and defending titles in both the bantamweight and featherweight divisions. She secured decisive victories against many top fighters.
Her list of defeated opponents includes legendary names like Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Valentina Shevchenko, Holly Holm, Miesha Tate, and Germaine de Randamie, showcasing her dominance across two weight classes.
Even her losses were avenged. After a surprising defeat to Julianna Peña at UFC 269, Nunes decisively won the rematch at UFC 277 over five rounds. Her final fight was a victory against Irene Aldana at UFC 289 in June 2023, after which she announced her retirement.
Despite recent hints at a potential return to competition during UFC 314 fight week, possibly for a fight against the winner of the Peña vs. Kayla Harrison bout, Nunes can now celebrate her upcoming Hall of Fame induction.
Other inductees for the June 28 ceremony at T-Mobile Arena include former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler (Modern Wing), the classic fight between Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum from UFC 236 (Fight Wing), and producer Craig Piligian (Contributor Wing).
Nunes and Lawler will join the Modern Wing alongside MMA icons such as Ronda Rousey, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Georges St-Pierre, B.J. Penn, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Jose Aldo, and Daniel Cormier.
